Search Engine Optimization process varies depending
on the preferences of the company doing SEO
services. Some merely focus on the development of
their own website such as excessive link building,
while others study their competitors’ website after
reviewing their own. Company website owners are

Normally, SEO process takes six to eight steps.
That, I think, is quite heavy for brain memory. What
I did was condensed them to three simple words; probe, develop and sustain. Now it’s easier to put
in mind.
First, you probe.
This is the web analysis or
site structural analysis of your opponents and your
own website. Factors are considered such as checking
your website content, importance and quality of
information it contains. This also includes the
current page rank, website status, website layout
design, number of web pages, internal links (if
there are broken links in the navigational links)
outbound links, anchor text and others. Keyword
research and analysis follow after doing the
previous. You have to check if your web page is
guilty of keyword stuffing. In keyword research, you
have to put yourself in the shoe of an ordinary
internet searcher by typing in query words or
phrases to access websites related to your business.
Don’t forget to make them specific. For instance,
the searcher who happens to be a teenager girl is
looking for a website that sells dresses for formal
occasions, “formal dress” or “formal party clothes”
will be more likely typed in. This helps to check
the relevancy of your website while knowing your
business opponents’ websites. Typing in other query
phrases in the search bar to further your keyword
research is advised to discover new potential
keywords. If your website appears on the 35th page
of search engine results page (SERP), it’s not a
good sign. Ask link builders to rescue your website.
Second, you develop.
This includes the editing,
changing and improving of SEO elements. Meta tags
(title, description and keyword) refinement is a
must to make your website more search
engine-friendly, for easier user-accessibility. The

linking method namely; one-way, reciprocal and
three-way. However, it is advised to do one-way and
two-way linking only because they are already proven
to increase page rank. One-way linking method is
effectively done by blogging, blog commenting and

linking method, on the other hand, is only effective
if the link exchange is done by websites having the
same page rank. If your website ranks higher and

benefited. Things must be considered in doing a link
exchange. First and foremost, be smart to avoid
being fooled or cheated. The website you are going
to link to must not be a link farm, not a PPC member
(porn, pills, casino), not bearing a “no follow”
tags in the code of its web page, not requiring for
payment and many others. Furthermore, don’t allow
your website to be linked in javascript form because
the spider cannot crawl on them. Submitting your
website to directories is also encouraged as long as
those directories are human-edited. If you found
your website less attractive that results in having
few numbers of visitors, make it more attractive by
website re-structuring.
Finally, you sustain.
Once your website has
gained a ranking, or a higher ranking if already
ranked previously, you must not stop there.
Maintaining your ranking alone is not enough, making
it higher is. This third step of SEO is actually the
combination of the first two steps—repetition of the
probing and developing of your website. The process
also includes web content updating (adding website
features and services to allow more indexing of your
website), copywriting (updating the articles, blog
and forum area of your page with relevant
information), adding new link partners and
